Amendment C243gshe – Mooroopna West Growth Corridor

Greater Shepparton City Council (Council) has prepared Amendment C243gshe to the Greater Shepparton Planning Scheme (Planning Scheme).

The Amendment proposes to rezone 4.1 hectares of land located at 294 McLennan Street, Mooroopna being Lot 1 on PS649091 currently zoned Farming Zone to the Neighbourhood Residential Zone to facilitate residential development within part of the Mooroopna West Growth Corridor.

The Amendment is required to facilitate the continued development of the growth area comprising 260 hectares of land expected to support a population of 3,937 people based on a total lot yield of 1,600 lots. This land is identified as a residential growth area in the Mooroopna West Growth Corridor Structure Plan 2009, (Structure Plan) the Greater Shepparton Housing Strategy 2011 (the Strategy), and Clauses 02.03 and 02.04 of the planning scheme.

  • during office hours, at the office of the planning authority, Greater Shepparton City Council, 90 Welsford Street, Shepparton;
  • Visiting Department of Transport and Planning website at planning.vic.gov.au/public-inspection or by contacting 1800 789 386 to arrange a time to view the amendment documentation.

Any person who may be affected by the Amendment and can make a submission to the planning authority. 

Submissions must be made in writing giving the submitter’s name and contact address, clearly stating the grounds on which the Amendment is supported or opposed and indicating what changes (if any) the submitter wishes to make.

Name and contact details of submitters are required for Council to consider submissions and to notify such persons of the opportunity to attend Council meetings and any public hearing held to consider submissions.

Submissions about the amendment and planning must be received by 5pm Thursday, 13 June 2024.

The planning authority must make a copy of every submission available at its office for any person to inspect, free of charge, for two months after the Amendment comes into operation or lapses.
