Community Training Terms and Conditions
Our training calendar consists of training events by Council, as well as external organisations and the wider community. The following Terms and Conditions apply to training events and workshops held by Council, and your registration for these events is an acceptance of these terms.
1. Registration
- To be eligible to register for this training session, you must be over 18 years of age and live, work, study or volunteer in Greater Shepparton Municipality. However, certain workshops will be open to individuals outside of this area.
- Registrations will be accepted in the order that they are received. Once all places have been filled, Council may place you on a waiting list and notify you if a place becomes available.
- Council accepts no responsibility for late, lost, incomplete, invalid or corrupt registrations.
- You agree to immediately notify Council of any changes to your registration, including your request to withdraw your registration.
2. Microsoft Teams / Zoom
Where the training session is to be delivered online, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Session will be delivered online using Microsoft Teams or Zoom. To access Teams or Zoom, you may need to create a Microsoft Account and download and install the Teams or Zoom app onto your computer or device;
- Creating a Microsoft account and using Microsoft Teams or Zoom requires you to provide personal information to a third-party provider and agree to their terms of use. Council accepts no liability in respect of Microsoft’s collection, use or disclosure of your personal information;
- the personal information that you provide to register for the training session may be visible to other registered participants, in both the online invitation containing the training session link and during the training session via Microsoft Teams or Zoom; and
- Council accepts no liability for the use and/or disclosure of your personal information by other registered participants.
3. Expected behaviour
- You agree to follow all reasonable directions of Council staff and facilitators at all times during the training.
- You agree to be courteous and respectful at all times during the training, and acknowledge that you may be removed from or asked to leave the training where Council deems your behaviour to be inappropriate or unacceptable.
4. Liability
- Council gives no warranty and accepts no responsibility for the accuracy or completeness of information and/or advice provided by the presenter during the training, and any reliance you place on that information and/or advice is at your own risk.
- Any opinions expressed during the training are the presenter’s own and do not necessarily represent those of Council.
5. Cancellation
- Notwithstanding any other provision of these conditions, and regardless of whether your participation in the training has been confirmed by Council, Council reserves the right to cancel or postpone the training at any time, or change the method of delivery (e.g: from face-to-face to online).
- Council reserves the right to cancel your participation in the training and/or not accept future registrations for training where you have submitted false, inaccurate, insufficient or misleading information as part of your registration.
6. No relationship
Nothing in these terms and conditions or in the conduct of the parties will create a relationship of agency, partnership, employer and employee or joint venture between you and/or your community group or organisation and Council.
Privacy collection statement
- Your personal information is being collected by Council to administer your registration for Training sessions as stated in the Community training Calendar Terms and Conditions.
- Council uses a third-party booking platform known as ‘Trybooking’. Any personal information you submit when registering via this platform will be stored and processed by trybooking in accordance with their Privacy Policy.
- Your personal information will also be stored in Council’s Customer Database and used to identify you when communicating with Council and for the delivery of services and information.
