Greater Shepparton City Council noted the awarding of more than $10,000 in the Creative City Grants Program at the May Council Meeting yesterday.
The funding included a total of $10,390 for Round One of the 2023/2024 Creative City Grants Program, with four applicants sharing in the funding.
The Creative City Grant Program aims to ensure that Council’s investment in the arts and creative industries remains relevant and effective, as a part of Council’s Creative City Strategy. The objectives of the Creative City Grants Program are to support local creative talent, contribute to the diversity and vitality of creative activity across our region, encourage active participation in the arts for all and strengthen Greater Shepparton’s identity as a creative city.
Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, said it is fantastic to see a large sum of money distributed back into the community which will benefit the region’s creative sector.
“We are always pleased to deliver grants and funding to community groups and organisations which need a helping hand to achieve their goals. Whether that be through projects to help develop new creative works, content, products or services, a new arts component of an existing arts or cultural event, or other relevant projects,” he said.
“We understand how important this grant funding can be and we look forward to seeing these successful applicants put the funding to good use.”
