After seeking feedback on the program from the Greater Shepparton community in December last year, Council will now host Women Only Swimming more regularly.
Greater Shepparton City Council Director Community, Louise Mitchell says the program has had real success in building a supportive community of women who encourage each other to get out and be active.
“We want all women to feel comfortable about physical activity and these sessions give participants an opportunity to focus on and enjoy getting active.”
“It is our hope that the confidence gained by women during this program will lead to their participation in additional physical activity opportunities on offer in the community”, Ms Mitchell said.
Women Only Swimming will be held at Aquamoves from 5.30pm to 8.30pm on the first and third Sunday of each month, with access to the centre’s indoor 25m, leisure and hydrotherapy pools, sauna and spas.
