The Carer Support team at FamilyCare and the Carer Gateway are hosting an LGBTIQA+ Carer’s Cuppa this Out in the Open Festival.

It will be a space to relax and unwind, build knowledge and understanding and connect socially with other LGBTIQA+ carers. It will also be a great chance to talk to the FamilyCare Carer Support team about what supports are available and ask questions.

Hosted at the GV Pride hub, cuppa’s are included and this event is free, please register so we know to expect you.

Further details and accessible information

  • The GV Pride Hub is a private shop within the Tower Arcade in the Maude Street Mall, Shepparton.
  • Inside the space is a couch, tables and chairs, shelving of second-hand items, pride merchandised and other items.
  • Public toilets are available within a one-minute walk of the GV Pride Hub. These bathrooms have binary gender toilets labelled; female and male, a parent’s room, and an all gender/accessible bathroom.
  • GV Pride & Out in the Open festival volunteers will be there as a point of contact and community support through conversations.
  • The event will include casual conversation with the staff from the Carer Gateway program and FamilyCare, where you can ask questions, share concerns or listen. Other people from our GV Pride community will be in attendance.

This event takes place on the lands of the Yorta Yorta people. Goulburn Valley Pride and the OUTintheOPEN Festival acknowledge the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land on which we live, work and play, the eight clans of the Yorta Yorta Nation. We also pay our respects to their Elders past and present. On the land of the Goulburn Valley, sovereignty was never ceded.
