Greater Shepparton City Council advises that asphalt resurfacing works, which were scheduled this week for McKean Street, Mooroopna and Batman Avenue, Shepparton, have been postponed due to the rain event expected this week.
The asphalt re-surfacing works in McKean Street will now take place from Monday 9 October to Friday 13 October 2023, between the hours of 7am and 6pm. The works will occur between Elizabeth Street and Treacy Street, with McKean Street remaining open to motorists while construction is underway.
The works scheduled for Batman Avenue will now take place on Wednesday 11 October 2023. Oxley Street will be closed to motorists from 7am to 6pm to facilitate the works and to ensure public safety while the works are underway. Batman Avenue will remain open under traffic management, with short delays expected when travelling in the area.
Motorists are advised to obey all worksite and advisory signage, including traffic controllers, when travelling around McKean Street and Batman Avenue while the work is underway. Residents will retain access to their properties, however some delays will be expected during the construction period.
Council appreciates the community's understanding and cooperation during these essential maintenance works.
