If you’ve wandered through Queens Gardens recently, you’ve likely admired the breathtaking roses and vibrant snapdragons in bloom. What you might not know is that these beautiful gardens are nurtured by Nat, Greater Shepparton City Council's devoted Horticultural Service Officer, whose love for the gardens runs deep.
In a new video, we get to meet Nat, who has a real heart for making Shepparton’s gardens shine. For her, it’s more than just a job; it's a family tradition. Her grandmother, known for growing some of the best roses around, inspired Nat’s love for gardening. Now, Nat carries that legacy forward, creating a stunning floral display that’s been drawing visitors from interstate!
“I feel so lucky to work in Queens Gardens,” Nat shares. “The roses are a labour of love and seeing people enjoy them makes it all worth it.”
In fact, Queens Gardens holds a special place in Nat’s heart for another reason: it’s where she proposed to her partner, making the spot even more meaningful.
“One night, I proposed to my partner right here,” she shares. “Everything looked just perfect—the roses, the lights—it felt like our own little corner of paradise.”
Check out the video below to see Nat in action and hear more about her love for the role.
Nat says the gardens are a true community treasure, and she’s proud to be part of the team that makes them bloom for everyone to enjoy.
So next time you’re in Queens Gardens, take a moment to appreciate the magic of the flowers.
