The region is gearing up for the Shepparton Health and Wellbeing Event next month where you can discover a new wellbeing experience from our region’s best and brightest.
The Health and Wellbeing Event, to be held at the McIntosh Centre in Shepparton on Sunday 18 September 2022, will be a place to connect wellness businesses, professionals and local people to empower our community.
Following the success of the inaugural event last year, the event is back bigger and better for 2022 and will be an opportunity to come together with like-minded people for a day of feel-good activities to support your physical, mental and spiritual health.
Supported by Great Things Happen Here, the event’s theme is Move Forward and aims to address recent data which indicated professional services were the second highest category for spend leakage out of the area.
“After the success of the inaugural Health and Wellbeing Event in 2021, it was evident that there was a need for an event of this type to continue. Now more than ever we all need to listen to our bodies and respond,” Greater Shepparton Partnerships and Marketing Co-ordinator Liz Connick said.
“We also wanted to increase the area to showcase the many and varied support services on offer here in Greater Shepparton. In the last two years many new and innovative professional services in the health and wellbeing sector have opened and we are spoilt for choice.”
The event will include group workout sessions, cooking demonstrations, keynote speakers and more aimed at building a healthy, active and mindful lifestyle. Attendees can enjoy a nutritious snack, meet friends for meditation and then let their creativity flow in one of the workshops.
“The event will host a range of inclusive activities and stalls meaning there will be something for everyone. The day will be a much-needed opportunity to reconnect – with ourselves, our wellbeing and our community. Join us in building healthy habits and positive relationships that will support us into the future, and let's move forward together.
The Health and Wellbeing Event is pleased to be partnering with Berry Street as the official charity partner, which Hume Director Patrice Jackson said comes at the perfect time.
“Our community has faced enormous challenges over the past few years which has had an impact on our overall wellbeing,” she said.
“This event is a wonderful opportunity for us all to come together to celebrate and explore the health and wellbeing resources that the region has to offer.”
The event will focus on what wellness means to each individual, whilst showcasing and celebrating our local providers. Exhibition sites are now on sale and event organisers are encouraging applications from all possible backgrounds and areas of expertise to provide a truly holistic wellness experience. Limited spaces are available for this exciting opportunity and expressions of interest are now open online.
FIX Muscle Performance Owner Manager Cher Hetherington was a stall holder at last year’s event, which she said was a great opportunity to connect with people from across the region.
“Last years’ Health and Wellbeing Event was an amazing opportunity to connect in person with people and allow them an opportunity to meet the people of your business and allow conversations rather than just relying on social media,” she said.
“This event is an opportunity for businesses to showcase what is available in our region rather than people leaving our region for solutions that you can offer. It is home grown health support.”
Event tickets will be on sale soon and the official event program will be released in the coming weeks. For more information or to apply for a stall at the event, please visit www.healthwellbeingevent.com.au
