Greater Shepparton City Council is ready to spread some Christmas cheer this festive season, with the Christmas Wonderland Hub officially opening today in the Maude Street Precinct in Shepparton.
The Christmas Wonderland is located at 235 Maude Street, and will be open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm, until Saturday 23 December 2023.
The Christmas Wonderland is the place to go this festive season for all of your Christmas shopping ideas, organise gift wrapping for a gold coin donation, enjoy free children’s activities and spend time with the cheeky elves who are on hand to spread some festive cheer.
Santa will also be visiting the Christmas Wonderland this year for the first time. Visitors can take a photo with Santa, who will be at the Christmas Wonderland from Tuesday to Saturday between 11am and 1pm, for a $5 donation.
The opening of the Christmas Wonderland follows the launch of the 2023 Greater Shepparton Great Christmas Gift Guide, which was distributed in the Shepparton News on Friday 24 December, and other newspapers across the region. The Gift Guide has been crafted to give readers everything they need this festive season, including incredible recipes, Christmas crafts, traditional ideas, tips on how to make your house sparkle inside and out, and a letter to Santa for the kids. Drop in to the Christmas Wonderland to pick up your copy of the Christmas Gift Guide.
Residents and visitors who spend $50 or more at one of the participating stores featured in the Christmas Gift Guide, can fill in an entry coupon in store for a chance to win the major prize, a $5,000 Travel Voucher thanks to Lyn McNaught Travel. Shoppers are also eligible to pick a prize tag off one of the Christmas trees in the Christmas Wonderland by simply presenting their receipt
Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, said Council was pleased to launch the Christmas Wonderland in the heart of Shepparton for a second year, to help spread some festive cheer in the region.
“If you are in Shepparton or travelling here to do some Christmas shopping, be sure to pop in to the Christmas Wonderland. There is activities for kids, a place to rest in between shops and the opportunity to snap a photo with Santa,” he said.
“We encourage everyone to shop local this year and support our hardworking businesses. Don’t forget, if you shop in one of the participating stores you can visit the Christmas Wonderland and pick a prize tag off the Christmas trees. There are plenty of great prizes to be won along with the major prize draw, a $5,000 travel voucher which will be drawn on Saturday 23 December.”
