Greater Shepparton City Council is seeking community input into the development of the 2021-2025 Universal Access and Inclusion Plan (UAIP). This is an opportunity for community members to have their say and help establish the key Council priorities which will shape the plan for the next four years.
Feedback received from the community will be used to inform the Greater Shepparton Disability & Positive Ageing Advisory Committees access and inclusion priorities as well the development of the UAIP.
Greater Shepparton Mayor, Cr Kim O’Keeffe said “Input, ideas and feedback received will provide Council with valuable information regarding what makes Greater Shepparton accessible and inclusive now and what we need to do over the next four years to make our region even more accessible and inclusive for our residents and visitors.”
“This is a real opportunity to have your say on how Council will work to promote and foster inclusion, access and equity for all. We want to hear from everyone within the region from residents to businesses and organisations to committees and agencies and our visitors on how Council can deliver more inclusive services and spaces and continue to create a welcoming, understanding, respectful and inclusive community for all.” Cr O’Keeffe said.
Ideas and feedback will be received online from Monday 14 June to Monday 12 July on the Shaping Greater Shepp consultation website, alternatively, you can attend one of the several community workshops. Please register your workshop attendance by visiting Council’s website or phoning 03 5832 9700 and asking to speak to Council’s Access and Inclusion Officer.
There are many ways you can have your say and make a difference:
The feedback received will assist in developing the draft UAIP which will be submitted to Council for approval before public release and community comment. The final UAIP will then be adopted at a later Council meeting and registered with the Australian Human Rights Commission.
