Greater Shepparton City Council is moving forward with plans to build a new skate park in Tatura, replacing the existing facility at Memorial Place, Mactier Gardens. The project is funded by the Federal Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure (LRCI) program.
In Summary
The community is invited to provide feedback on two proposed concept designs developed in response to public consultation.
Council’s Director Infrastructure, Gary Randhawa, encouraged residents to get involved in shaping the final design.
“This new skate park will be an exciting and modern facility that caters to skaters, BMX riders and scooter users of all skill levels,” he said.
“Community input is essential to ensuring we create a space that meets the needs of local users.”
The consultation period will run for two weeks from Monday 24 March to Friday 4 April 2025. Residents can participate online via Council’s Shaping Greater Shepp website or attend an in-person community meeting on Monday 24 March from 4.30pm to 6.00pm at Tatura Senior Citizens Hall.
“Council is committed to delivering a high-quality skate park that will serve the community for years to come, we encourage everyone to share their thoughts on the proposed concept designs,” Mr Randhawa said.
The current Tatura Skate Park will close to the public from Tuesday 25 March 2025 for site preparation and demolition works.
