Greater Shepparton residents are invited to play a crucial role in developing the future direction of our region through paid participation in a Community Panel.
The Community Panel will consider all of the ideas submitted via the consultation process for the first ever Community Vision for Greater Shepparton. The Community Vision will be developed by the community and for the community and will reflect the aspirations of and ideas for Greater Shepparton and provide direction for the four year Council Plan.
The Community Panel will be independently selected by an external organisation and will be representative of all people in our community, which is an important part of the Community Vision. Each Panel member will be paid a stipend of $300 for their time and input.
Greater Shepparton Mayor, Cr Kim O’Keeffe, said there is extensive community consultation underway at the moment including roadshows and a website for people to leave their ideas. “What we really need now is people to put their hands up to be a part of the Community Panel,” said Cr O’Keeffe.
“To truly represent our community we need a wide range of people from different backgrounds to be involved,” she said. “We are offering people a payment of $300 which provides recognition that we value their contribution.”
The panel will take place on the following dates:
All panel sessions will be held online from the comfort of your own home. If you have any needs, including access to a computer, that we should take into account to support your participation in this event, we will discuss them with you if you are selected to take part.
To have your say on the future of Greater Shepparton and to nominate for the Community Panel visit the Shaping Greater Shepparton website.
