Greater Shepparton City Council adopted the Central Park Recreation Reserve Master Plan at the October Ordinary Council Meeting on 15 October.
The Master Plan provides Council and user groups with a direction to support the future use, development, management and maintenance of Central Park.
As part of the Master Plan, a detailed background report was prepared. This included a Landscape Master Plan summarising the key priorities for the recreation reserve, including:
Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor, Cr Kim O’Keeffe, said the Master Plan will address current and future community needs of Central Park.
“Central Park Recreation Reserve plays a pivotal role in the provision of open space, sport, recreation, community and event opportunities for the local community,” she said.
“Council released the Draft Central Park Master Plan for public comment from 22 May 2019 to 19 June 2019.
“Submissions were received during our consultation process which led to changes in the draft document, so we thank those who took the time to engage with Council on the Master Plan. It’s great to see some of the items identified already taking place.”
