Greater Shepparton City Council is proud to celebrate the success of its Empowering Early Years Recruitment Day, held on Wednesday 29 October 2025 at the McIntosh Centre in Shepparton.
The event aimed to make it easier for people to explore a career in early childhood education by offering a relaxed and supportive environment for conversations with Council staff. The initiative continues to play an important role in addressing the growing demand for qualified educators across the region.
There were 47 registrations with 29 attendees, including aspiring educators, recent graduates, and career changers eager to enter the early childhood sector.
Council’s Manager Early Years Operations and Reform, Stacey East, said Council was proud to connect with people passionate about building the future of early childhood education.
“It’s always inspiring to see so many people interested in shaping young minds and supporting families in our region. The event continues to show that when we create welcoming opportunities like this, we can attract passionate people who truly want to make a difference,” she said.
Attendees described the event as an encouraging first step toward a rewarding career, valuing the opportunity to ask questions, connect with Council staff, and learn more about the different pathways into early childhood education.
Council now looks forward to welcoming new educators to its Early Years team, who will play a vital role in supporting children in our community to reach their full potential.
Anyone who missed the recruitment day and is interested in a career in early childhood education, is encouraged to get in touch by emailing council@shepparton.vic.gov.au.
