The Tatura community is set to come together once again when the 32nd annual Tatura 100 Lap Challenge returns on Saturday 28 February 2026 at the Tatura Swimming Complex.
In Summary
The much-loved charity event will run from 8am to approximately 11am and invites swimmers of all ages and abilities to take on the challenge of completing up to 100 laps, either individually or as part of a team.
The event raises funds for the Tatura Hospital and Parkvilla Nursing Home, supporting essential equipment purchases and facility improvements that directly benefit the local community.
Swimmers are encouraged to make a donation on the day to help support these important local facilities.
Aquamoves Centre Manager, Liliana Angeles, expressed her excitement about the events return, saying the event continues to highlight the strength and generosity of the Tatura community.
The 100 Lap Challenge began as a friendly wager at a local pub and has since grown into a cornerstone community fundraiser, raising approximately $95,000 over its 31-year history.
Tatura local and long-time volunteer Gary Whyte said the event’s longevity reflects the community’s ongoing commitment to supporting local care services.
“This event has a strong connection to Tatura Hospital and Parkvilla Aged Care facility, both facilities that mean a lot to our town,” he said.
“It’s inspiring to see people continue to turn up year after year to keep this tradition going.”
Entry into the pool is free for participants, and registrations are now open.
Event details:
Registrations are essential and close at 5pm on Monday 23 February 2026.
