Greater Shepparton City Council are seeking Children’s book donations from the Greater Shepparton community for Best Start’s inaugural Book Drive.
Best Start is a State Government initiative providing support to families and caregivers with children aged birth to eight years. Best Start has a strong focus on the development of language and literacy skills, with many of the programs promoting the importance of reading to children. To coincide with the Children’s Book Council Australia (CBCA) book week from 21-27 August, Best Start are launching their Book Drive campaign, seeking book contributions from community members throughout August.
Best Start are seeking any second-hand good quality children’s board and picture books. Books can be dropped off at a collection point at Greater Shepparton City Council offices from 16 to 30 August or alternatively arrangements can be made for books to be picked up by contacting customer services on 03 5832 9700 or emailing council@shepparton.vic.gov.au
