Greater Shepparton City Council is hosting a community drop-in session next week to get a better understanding of road safety issues which impact the community.
In Summary
The session, to be held on Tuesday 25 June 2024 from 10am to 12.30pm at the Shepparton Senior Citizens Centre, will help Council Officers better understand the community’s concerns and help gather ideas to address any issues.
The drop-in session forms part of Council’s development of a Mobility and Road Safety Strategy. Council would like to meet with key community groups to help contribute to the process of developing an action plan that aligns with the Victoria Road Safety Strategy to halve deaths and reduce serious injuries by 2030.
Council’s Manager Engineering and Assets, Ben Gannon, said community members are encouraged to drop-in at any time during the session and share their thoughts.
“We look forward to working with the community to help shape our Mobility and Road Safety Strategy. This is an important document for Council and we want to ensure the thoughts and ideas of all road users within the municipality are captured,” he said.
“We currently have an online survey open on Council’s Shaping Greater Shepp website to gather feedback from the community. This community drop-in session will complement the information we have already gathered and will help aid in the overall development of the strategy to ensure it aligns with the community’s views.”
The final Mobility and Road Safety Strategy will be endorsed by Council and shared with the public in early 2025.
Feedback can be provided via the online survey until midnight on Sunday 23 June 2024, via the Shaping Greater Shepparton website.
Details of the community drop-in session are included below.
