Council elections are happening in Victoria this October.
The election period applies to Greater Shepparton City Council from 12 noon on Tuesday 17 September until 6pm on Saturday 26 October 2024.
During this period, there are limits on the sorts of publications and activities that Councils can be involved in to ensure that Council resources are not used in any way that is intended or likely to influence voting. This is set out in the Local Government Act 2020 as well as the Election Period Policy of each Council and includes decision making, meetings, publications, social media platforms, websites, media, events and engagement.
During this time, you will notice decreased activity across Council’s social media pages, websites, email newsletters, Council advertising and media.
Find out more information about Council’s Election Period Policy.
Local government elections are coordinated by the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC). For more information about the election, visit the VEC website for more information or if you have any questions.
