Gifts for every Dad - Shop Local and WIN BIG this Father’s Day in Greater Shepparton
Posted on
Wednesday 20th of August, 2025,
Greater Shepparton City Council is giving residents another reason to shop local this Father’s Day, with the launch of a community-wide competition offering shoppers the chance to WIN one of five $100 vouchers.
The campaign will run from Sunday 24 August through to Sunday 7 September 2025, encouraging shoppers to spend $50 or more on a gift for Dad or that special father figure at any small business within the Greater Shepparton Local Government Area. To enter, customers simply upload a copy of their receipt and complete the short online entry form.
The campaign aims to highlight the variety and quality of local businesses in Greater Shepparton, while celebrating the important father figures in our lives during one of the biggest gift-giving occasions of the year. From sporting gear and DIY tools to BBQ accessories and outdoor experiences, the region is brimming with great gift ideas to celebrate the occasion.
Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, said Father’s Day is the perfect opportunity to show appreciation while supporting local businesses.
“Father’s Day is a chance to recognise the important role dads and father figures play in our lives,” he said.
“This initiative not only encourages people to find unique and meaningful gifts, it also drives spending back into our local economy. Every purchase made at a small business keeps money circulating here in Greater Shepparton, supports local jobs, and helps our business community thrive. It’s a win for families and a win for our region.”
Council’s Place Manager, Bonnie McIntosh, said the campaign is a reminder of the wide variety of gifts available locally and the positive impact shopping local has on the community.
“From sporting gear and BBQ accessories to locally made treats and one-of-a-kind handmade items, there’s no shortage of Father’s Day gifts right here in Greater Shepparton,” she said.
“This campaign is about reminding people that when you choose local first, you’re supporting the businesses that make our region unique and vibrant. Every purchase has a positive ripple effect, not just for the recipient, but for our whole community.”
The competition is open to anyone aged 18 years or older. Both in-store and online purchases are accepted.
Entries close at 11.59pm on Sunday 7 September, with winners to be drawn on Tuesday 9 September 2025 between 3pm and 5pm and announced shortly after.
