Last chance to have your say ahead of Council’s 2026/2027 Budget

Community consultation for Greater Shepparton City Council’s 2026/2027 Budget is closing soon, with feedback due by Friday 21 November 2025.
Residents can share their priorities through an online survey, email, mail or by visiting Council’s Customer Service Centre.
Community members may also request to present their feedback directly to Councillors in December 2025.
All submissions will help shape funding decisions for over 120 Council services and the maintenance and upgrade of $2 billion in community assets.

Community members are encouraged to share their thoughts on what they would like to see included in the 2026/2027 Budget. Feedback can be provided in several ways:

The Budget sets where Council will allocate funding for capital works and service delivery for the next financial year. It outlines how resources will be prioritised to deliver over 120 important services to the community, along with the maintenance, renewal and upgrade of $2 billion worth of community assets.

When filling out the online survey or making a submission via email or post, community members can also request an opportunity to present their feedback in person to Councillors in December 2025. All feedback received will be considered in the development of the Budget before it is adopted by Council in May 2026.

Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, encouraged residents to have their say while the consultation is open.

“This is the community’s chance to provide feedback and tell us what they would like to see funded next financial year. If there is a particular project which needs support, any upgrades to infrastructure or community facilities across the region, or funding for major programs, we want to hear about it,” he said.

“Community feedback has led to the funding of many projects in recent years, including tables and chairs at the Victoria Park Lake BBQ Shelter and table tennis tables at the Dookie Youth Spot. These initiatives were in response to feedback from community groups.

“These important community projects have been driven by the community’s feedback. I encourage everyone to have their say while consultation is open. Help shape the 2026/2027 Budget for our region.”
