Registrations for 2022 kindergarten and pre-kindergarten are set to close on Tuesday 31 August.
Greater Shepparton City Council is reminding parents, carers and guardians that this is their final chance to register children for these services to ensure they are ready to commence next year.
Registrations are able to be made online for both pre-kindergarten (two years before school) and kindergarten (year before school) in a bid to streamline the process. However, locals are still able to call Council to discuss the process to ensure those, particularly with first time attendees, are fully informed.
There are currently 36 kindergarten programs offered across the municipality, with a variety of locations and programs available to suit the individual needs of children and their family.
Council Team Leader Children’s Services Jackie Vibert said kindergarten and pre-kindergarten were free or low cost for families who meet the eligibility criteria. She reminded locals to register their children before the cut-off date.
“Pre-kindergarten and kindergarten are important steps in a child’s development bringing new challenges, important learning opportunities and essential social interaction,” Ms Vibert said.
“Both programs are tailored to the specific needs of the individual child and Council are available to chat about the process to answer any questions and concerns.”
Council facilitates kindergarten registrations for most funded kindergarten programs in Greater Shepparton. Registration forms are available on Council’s website.
Late registrations are accepted after 31 August, however available spaces may limit families’ choices after this date.
For more information contact Council on 03 5832 9700 or visit our Kindergarten Registration Information page.
