Greater Shepparton City Council has commenced a study of traffic movements in the central Mooroopna area north of McLennan Street and is keen to receive feedback from residents about traffic issues and suggested improvements in this area.
The study area is bounded by McLennan Street (Midland Highway) to the south, Echuca Road to the west, McFarlane Road to the north and Mooroopna Golf Club to the east and has been initiated following feedback from local residents about changes in traffic movements over recent years.
The traffic management study will examine the existing traffic, parking and road safety issues as well as considering information received through a pubic survey and discussions with residents. The study will provide options for improvement.
The study and feedback will guide Council’s actions to improve traffic management and road safety within the area.
“Council has commissioned Cardno (Vic) Pty Ltd to assist with the study. We want to make sure we have the most up to date information from residents currently living near or using the roads on a regular basis” said Craig Exton, Greater Shepparton City Council Manager Projects.
“Currently we are gathering feedback from residents which will inform the development of a safer road network in this area,” he said.
“Council has a series of questions to ask residents including what are some of the current road issues, parking and road safety concerns within this part of Mooroopna,” said Mr Exton.
Council wants to hear from residents of Greater Shepparton and encourages residents to fill out the survey on the website here. Alternatively, people can drop into the Council offices or phone 5832 9700 for more information. The survey closes on 25 October.
