The North Growth Corridor is one of the two original growth corridors identified for future residential development in Greater Shepparton.
Landscaping works will support this development through the addition of a shared pathway along Warrumbungle Drive, tree and wetland planting, play space with playground, shelter and BBQ area and public open spaces for residents to enjoy.
Greater Shepparton City Council Director Infrastructure Gary Randhawa said the project will be beneficial to those residing in the area and the wider community.
“The addition of greenspace in areas of residential development is an important consideration and ensures the community continues to enjoy a healthy regional lifestyle as the city grows,” he said.
The landscaping works will occur Monday to Friday from 7am to 5pm and on weekends only if required, with completion of the project expected in June 2022.
Council staff will hold an information session in the coming months for local residents to provide more information about the project and gain feedback on the design of the playground equipment and play space. Residents will be contacted with further details.
Council asks road users to adhere to all traffic management directions during the works.
