Great Things Happen Here has partnered up with some of the region’s biggest employers and supporters and is heading off to the Melbourne Career Expo.
Running from Friday 15 July to Sunday 17 July 2022 at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, the Great Things Happen Here marketing team is working alongside GV Health, GOTAFE, La Trobe University, APEX Earthworks and Committee for Greater Shepparton to showcase the Greater Shepparton region and the abundance of jobs on offer here.
The team aim to promote our perfect ‘lifestyle blend’ and draw expo attendees in by cheekily renaming smoothie ingredients to the lifestyle assets of our region. Milk will become a 'long walk by the river', fruit will be renamed 'exercise' and juice will be 'more time with family'. Blender bikes will be used to mix up the smoothie ingredients and attendees will be offered a sample.
The team have recruited comedian Col Cameron who also enjoys a regional lifestyle and knows all too well the challenges of attracting workforce to regional areas. Col will keep the expo team energised by his fun and energetic approach and help Greater Shepparton stand out amongst the other many exhibitors.
Partnerships and Marketing Coordinator, Liz Connick said a major part of attending the expo was promoting the GROW Greater Shepparton Jobs Board, with all job enquiries received during the expo being directed to the site.
“While we know that every region has jobs, Greater Shepparton offers a balanced economy and lifestyle like no other,” she said.
"We are encouraging all businesses and organisations to post their job vacancies on the Jobs Board by Wednesday 13 July. Businesses need to be seen to be heard and we need to make it easy for people looking for a career for themselves in Greater Shepparton or a job for their partner.
“We look forward to having a wide range of jobs promoted on the GROW Greater Shepparton Jobs Board to act as a one stop shop for people looking to relocate or wanting a tree change.”
GOTAFE Acting Director Attraction and Engagement, Jane O’Brien said the team were looking forward to the expo and showcasing our region.
“GOTAFE is delighted to be partnering in the career expo with the Shepparton community – it is a fantastic opportunity to promote our wonderful region as place to live, work, study and play.”
Goulburn Valley Health Executive Director People, Development and Engagement, Karen Linford said the expo would be the perfect opportunity to showcase the Greater Shepparton lifestyle.
“We are really looking forward to partnering with Greater Shepparton City Council to promote the many career opportunities we have at GV Health, particularly with our $229 million redevelopment completion in August 2022 and also to showcase what a lifestyle in the Goulburn Valley has to offer.”
Committee for Greater Shepparton CEO, Linda Nieuwenhuizen encouraged job seekers to join some of Australia’s most iconic brands like SPC, Pental and Tatura Milk, as well as emerging innovators who offer exciting careers and business opportunities.
“With a fantastic lifestyle, excellent schools, university and training options and enviable arts and sporting facilities, Shepparton has something for everyone. We also offer easy access to snowfields, waterways and some of the best food venues and wineries in the country…all of which are right on our doorstep,” she said.
“If you are planning your next career or business move, make sure you visit Shepparton and see what we have to offer.”
Greater Shepparton businesses have until Wednesday 13 July to submit their job vacancies on the GROW Greater Shepparton Jobs Board.
