Greater Shepparton’s direction for the next four years is shaped by the Council Plan 2025-2029, and work is already underway to progress the actions Council has committed to deliver during this time.
The Council Plan sets a clear roadmap and strategic direction for the region, shaped directly by extensive community feedback and consultation with a dedicated Community Panel.
The document sets priorities across five themes: economy, infrastructure, liveability, environment and how Council works with and for the community, ensuring investment and decision‑making reflect what matters most to the community. It also sets out how progress will be measured, so residents can see what’s being delivered and how Council is tracking.
Key areas of focus include supporting a strong local economy and local jobs, investing in smarter infrastructure, including roads and community facilities, improving liveability through safer, more connected neighbourhoods, protecting the natural environment for future generations, and ensuring transparent, responsible leadership and financial sustainability.
To ensure the community is brought along on the journey, a dedicated Council Plan webpage has been developed on Council’s website. This page outlines how the Council Plan works and provides further information on the five strategic themes and the key actions and community benefits that support each of these pillars.
The webpage also provides a visual dashboard outlining further details around each action item, allowing community members to see how these actions are progressing over the life of the document.
Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, said Council was committed to bringing the community along on the journey.
“The Council Plan places a strong focus on transparency and accountability, setting out how progress will be measured and reported so residents can clearly see what is being delivered and how Council is tracking against its commitments,” he said.
Council invites the community to learn more about the Council Plan, understand its priorities and track its progress over the next four years.
View the full Council Plan document and find out more about how Council will deliver on its commitments.
