Save the date! Converge on the Goulburn 2026 is on its way

Greater Shepparton City Council invites community members to save the date and get ready for Converge on the Goulburn 2026. This year, the much-loved event will feature a one-day event program on Saturday 21 March from 2pm to 9pm at Victoria Park Lake in Shepparton.

In Summary

  • Converge on the Goulburn 2026 will be held on Saturday 21 March from 2pm to 9pm at Victoria Park Lake, featuring a one-day program of food, cultural activities, live music and family entertainment.
  • The event will be delivered in partnership with the Shepparton Arts Festival’s 30th anniversary program and will include workshops, performances and activities for all ages.
  • New to the 2026 event is a Makers Market, providing opportunities for local creators from multicultural backgrounds to sell handmade products during Cultural Diversity Week.
  • Converge on the Goulburn is a free, alcohol-free community event, with food and drinks available to purchase on site and additional youth performances delivered through the Amplify Youth Committee program.

Residents and visitors are invited to come along and be part of the celebration, with plenty to see, taste and experience throughout the day. Enjoy delicious food, vibrant cultural displays, fun kids’ activities, and a full lineup of live music and performances.

In partnership with the Shepparton Arts Festival, which is proudly celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, Converge on the Goulburn will present an outstanding live‑music and performance stage as part of its program, creating a one‑of‑a‑kind experience for everyone to enjoy.

A wide range of workshops will also be available, including multicultural story time, face painting, henna painting, and art workshops facilitated by a Yorta Yorta artist and Splinter Contemporary Artists.

Attendees can take part in Activities in the Park craft sessions, enjoy stand‑up paddle‑boarding and pedal boats on the lake, while Connected Circus will run games and circus activities. SEDA Group will also be onsite with inflatable sports games.

For the first time, the event will feature a Makers Market, giving local creators the opportunity to sell handmade items such as jewellery, soaps, candles and other crafts made by members of our multicultural community. This new addition aligns with Cultural Diversity Week, which falls during the festival.

Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor, Councillor Shane Sali, said the festival is a fantastic opportunity to bring people together, and enjoy a great time celebrating our community.

“Converge on the Goulburn is a truly unique festival for both our region and the state. It’s a wonderful opportunity to showcase our community, celebrate the people who make it special, and invite friends and family from outside Greater Shepparton to experience it,” he said.

“I strongly encourage everyone to come along, try the delicious food on offer, enjoy the vibrant cultural displays and join in the celebration. It’s a family‑friendly event for everyone to be part of.”

Adding even more to the day, Amplify Youth Committee will be running a two‑hour youth program featuring performances by talented young local artists. They are currently seeking performers aged 14–25 through their Artists Engagement Campaign. This is a paid opportunity for emerging and aspiring artists working in music, dance, theatre, spoken word and other performance‑based art forms. Tap here for more information
