Greater Shepparton City Council is seeking feedback from road users within the region to help shape an upcoming Mobility and Road Safety Strategy.
In Summary
Feedback is available via a survey on Council’s Shaping Greater Shepp website, with the survey aiming to identify problem areas and road safety concerns to get a better appreciation of the conditions and circumstances encountered by all road users, including drivers, riders and pedestrians.
The survey forms part of an important stage in the development of the Mobility and Road Safety Strategy which will be endorsed by Council and shared with the public in early 2025.
Council’s Manager Engineering and Assets, Ben Gannon, said Council is seeking as much feedback as possible from road users to help identify and address mobility and road safety issues within the region.
“We can analyse data and tap into the knowledge of our engineers and Victoria Police. However, to get a better understanding of mobility and safety issues, where the main problems are, and opportunities to make improvements, we need feedback from the local community,” he said.
“We encourage everyone to have their say and share with us any road safety concerns they have. Once endorsed, this strategy will act as a guiding plan for Council over the next 10 years and include future actions to help achieve safer roads, speeds, people and vehicles.”
The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete, with the feedback collected and used to help inform the contents of the strategy. No personal information will be recorded or retained.
The survey opens today, Monday 3 June and closes Sunday 23 June 2024. The survey can be accessed via Council’s Shaping Greater Shepp website.
