Street artist Adnate who was in Shepparton painting the latest stage of the Aboriginal Street Art Project in the GV Water Laneway, visited Wilmot Road Primary School to share his story and passion for his craft with students.
Speaking to around 80 year 5 and 6 students Adnate described his journey from painting graffiti style lettering on the back fences of anyone who would let him through to learning how to paint the large scale portraits that now cover walls all across the world.
He shared his inspirations and influences including fellow street artists and how he even draws on styles from renaissance painters. He stressed the need for aspiring artists to practice their craft and dedicate themselves to the art in order to make a career of painting.
Year 5 and 6 Coordinator Natalie Price said that “the students really benefited from Adnate’s visit today and were inspired by his story of practicing and persevering with his art. They were amazed by the works that he had created and inspired that he was living out his dream.”
