Each year Greater Shepparton City Council develops a calendar of culturally significant dates as a way to engage with the community and celebrate our rich and diverse culture. Now in its 10th year, Council would like you to get involved by submitting an artwork or photo to be featured within the calendar.
Each month of the ‘Our Community, Our Culture’ calendar will showcase a different artwork or photograph. Mayor, Cr Kim O’Keeffe encouraged Greater Shepparton residents to get involved and reflect on their culture and what it means to them.
“We really want the community to get involved in this annual calendar, as it is produced with our incredibly diverse region in mind,” she said.
“The calendar helps assist organisations and the community to be aware of religious and culturally significant occasions when planning programs and events. It allows us all to learn about each other’s culture and we are extremely lucky to have such diversity here in Greater Shepparton.”
Since 2013 the calendar has been widely distributed to staff, service providers and community members to use and enjoy.
Locals are encouraged to submit their high resolution images for the 2022 calendar via Shaping Greater Ghepparton website or email to mdofficer@shepparton.vic.gov.au, or by submitting their photos into Council’s Welsford Street office by 10 September 2021.
The 12 successful images will be announced on Council’s Facebook page by 15 October 2021 and will each receive a $100 voucher.
To request a copy of the completed 2022 calendar, contact Council's Cultural Development Officer on (03) 5832 9700 or email mdofficer@shepparton.vic.gov.au
