Time is running out to apply for Council’s Community Grant Program funding

Community groups, service clubs, and sporting organisations are reminded to apply for the 2024/2025 Community Grants Program before 5.00pm on Monday 10 February 2025.
Funding includes Small Town Festive Decorations (up to $3,000), Community Matching (up to $5,000), and Minor and Major Event Grants (up to $2,000 and $5,000 respectively).
The grants aim to empower locals, strengthen the community, and boost the region's economy through funding for events and projects.

Applications for the current round of the 2024/2025 program close at 5.00pm on Monday 10 February 2025, with three grants open for applications:

Small Town Festive Decorations – Grants of up to $3,000 are available for small towns within Greater Shepparton to decorate their main street and/or public space to celebrate the festive season.
Community Matching – Grants of up to $5,000 are available for community groups to support one-off projects and events which benefit and strengthen the Greater Shepparton community.
Minor and Major Event – Grants of up to $2,000 (Minor) and up to $5,000 (Major) are available to help facilitate events which attracts visitation, increases and enhances community spirit, participation, inclusion and wellbeing.

The annual Community Grants Program provides opportunities to support and empower locals and community groups to become engaged, connected and take action to support their local community. Each of the grants offer different levels of financial assistance to support community projects and events in a bid to help boost the region’s economy and prosperity.

With only a few weeks left to apply for the grant program, Mayor Councillor Shane Sali urged local community groups and organisations to check their eligibility and consider applying now.

“These grants can be a game-changer for local events or projects, helping them come to life or move forward,” he said.

“Council has allocated funding to support these initiatives, and we are eager to see this investment benefit our community and strengthen the local economy. If your club, group or community is eligible, I encourage you to apply before it is too late.”
