Greater Shepparton City Council is continuing to manage and monitor several projects around the region.
Council Mayor Cr Kim O’Keeffe provided an update on a few of the larger-scale projects in Greater Shepparton.
“Council strives to consistently improve the liveability of our region by upgrading facilities and services,” Cr O’Keeffe said.
“Occasionally this means residents and businesses will be impacted, but the projects we undertake are always for the benefit of our region.
“We acknowledge as projects progress, changes can be made to lessen the impact and we encourage residents and business operators to continue to talk to Council’s project staff throughout these projects.”
Skene Street centre road parking
Works have started onsite to install centre road parking in Skene Street, Shepparton. The project includes excavation works and installation of trees and tree cells along the middle of the road to improve the streetscape. Kerb-side trees will also be replaced, while works to the road pavement and concrete, kerbing, signage and line marking will finish the upgrade. Council reminds residents to follow all traffic management signage during construction works to ensure safety is maintained.
Kialla Park Recreation Reserve – Main Oval redevelopment
Works have started on the redevelopment of the Kialla Park Recreation Reserve Main Oval. These works include clearing, construction of new surface drains, installation of services, new concrete works, irrigation, fencing and cricket pitch reinstatement. Works are due to be completed in mid-to-late-July.
