Seasonal Influenza Vaccine
Annual influenza vaccination is provided free through the National Immunisation Program to groups who are at an increased risk of influenza complications, including:
- People aged 65 years and over
- Pregnant women
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children who are aged over 6 months and under 5 years old.
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 15 years and over
- Infants aged from 6 months to under 5 years
- Anyone aged 6 months and over with a chronic condition placing them at increased risk of complications from influenza

Vaccination for expecting mums and new parents
Pertussis vaccination* is free for all pregnant women from 20 weeks gestation and their partners at any of our immunisation sessions or from your local GP.
* Boostrix – diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis (whooping cough)
Who is eligible to receive the free vaccine?
- Pregnant women from 20 weeks gestation during every pregnancy.
- Partners of women who are at least 20 weeks pregnant, if they have not received a pertussis booster in the past 10 years.
- Parents/guardians of new babies if their baby is under 6 months of age and they have not received a pertussis booster in the past 10 years.
