Secondary School Immunisation Program
Each year our immunisation team visits all secondary schools in the Greater Shepparton municipality to vaccinate Year 7 and 10 school students as part of the National Immunisation Program Schedule.
The Secondary School Immunisation Program offers free vaccines for the following diseases to all students.
Year 7 Secondary School (or age equivalent)
- Human papillomavirus (HPV)
- Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough)
Year 10 Secondary School (or age equivalent)
How does my child access the school immunisation program?
The School will provide a consent card and information to parents and guardians regarding our visits to schools. The consent card must be completed and signed by the parent/guardian and returned to the school by the due date specified.
If you have not received a consent card please contact your school.
Vaccination will not be given to a child without a signed consent card.
What if my child misses their school vaccine?
If your child is unwell or absent on immunisation day, you will receive further information providing details of our Immunisation Schedule with a date to have the missed vaccine(s) by.
If, for whatever reason, your child cannot attend the School Immunisation Program as scheduled, vaccines are available at our Council Public Immunisation Sessions and are also given by GPs and other immunisation providers.
Online booking requests
Should you choose to attend a Council Immunisation Session, bookings are required. Book your child’s immunisation online using the link below:
