Dr Rob Gordon: Recovering after a disaster
10 February 2024
Dr. Rob Gordon returned to Greater Shepparton to share a roast dinner with Bunbartha and surrounding residents at the Tallygaroopna Recreation Reserve. This was an outcome of the Bunbartha Community Recovery Committee and the need to identify and understand the aspects of recovery that we can't see.
We had just under 50 residents attend Rob's presentation which covered recovery themes including:
- Social capital being your greatest asset in recovery
- Making decisions in a strong adrenaline state
- The necessity of pleasure, and leisure in recovery
- Connecting back to your values and routines in the face of disruption
